Tankless Water Heaters0

Tankless water heaters are a new type of water heater for your home. Instead of having an upright water heater that heats water and holds warm water, tankless water heaters heat the water when you need it, instead of heating it all the time.

Tankless water heaters are great because heating water costs money. If you have to heat your water less, you will pay less in energy. The other benefit of tankless water heaters is that while you are showering, doing laundry and doing dishes, you won’t run out of hot water.

Inside the lines of a tankless water heater, the water is heated, not by a flame in a large vat of water. This means you can have hot water quick than you could with just a normal hot water heater.

Next time you are looking to replace you standard hot water heater, take a look at tankless water heaters!

Door Rubs Against Frame0

If you have had this problem, you know exactly what I am talking about. Sometimes a door, usually a new door, will rub against the top of the bottom of the door frame. This usually happens in the door jam on the side with the handle.

Here is a quick fix: Unscrew the opposite hinge (if the door rubs at the bottom, unscrew the top hinge and vice versa), not all the way, but enough to get a wooden shim in there. Screw the hinge back in.interiordoor.jpg

You may want to make a wooden shim that is the exact size of the door hinge so it is flush, then you can paint to make for a normal looking door hinge.

If this is an external door, it can help reduce heating and cooling costs by making a tighter seal against the door frame.

Pretty easy, and should take less than 10 minutes total.
